Portia Ann Ford Memorial Scholarship Fund
Helping youth achieve their dreams in theater and in life has always been a goal of the BVT staff. This scholarship fund, named for the late mother of artistic director M.A. Sterling, helps in attaining that goal by providing support for youth and staff members striving to increase their theatrical education. Since its inception the fund has helped youth take part in college level courses, out-of-town workshops, and UIL one-act competitions, as well as attend productions by local community theaters and take part in BVT's youth program. Over 150 youths have benefited from this fund and we would like to see that number increase to where every child who wants to experience theater can have that opportunity.
